August 3, 2009Check Your Websites Look In Different Browsers
January 17, 2009Did you know that your Homesteasd website pages look different in various browers and operating systems?
I recently received an email from someone who visited one of my many sites. They were informing me that some advertisements were covering the content on one of my pages.
Here’s an easy way to check your Homestead website look in different browsers and operating system views. The site link is called Browser Shots and the good news is that it is free to use. It will limit the amount of views that you are allowed in a twenty four hour period unless you create an account. It will only cost you an email address entry to do this.
How the system Works
The freeware allows you to view many screen shots by just adding your websites URL of the page you would like to study. By defaut there are about 50 selections for Windows, Linux and Mac systems. By choosing check boxes it is possible to customize your views. A few of the standard browsers in the default include Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, Flock, Sea Monkey, Navigator and many others.
How easy is it to look at multiple browser views?
Enter your URl and select “submit.” Choose the “reload this page” option, repeatedly, over a particular length of time and new browser views will appear as the system gathers the information. Statistics will be displayed as to how many of the selected shots are completed and how many are in process. As you refresh the page more screen shots will be available for you to study.

Homestead Websites Optimization
So here is the link to Everything That’s Good, the website I built using Homestead Websites. Here is a tip about making money with a Homestead websites online, you don’t necessarily need to have a .com or .net domain. What you need more than anything is traffic entering into your pages where you have your products or pay per click advertisements. When I got the idea to start this particular site I already was managing about 8 .com or .net sites. The thought of investing more money left my mind as quickly as it entered. So I decided I would try something, making money with Adsense with a .Homestead website.
What I tried was to drive traffic to the site called Everything That’s Good without it even being indexed by the search engines. Day one returned successful Google advertisement revenue began to implement the ads on a couple of pages and then began creating many links in different forums and posting to free advertising sites online. The more links that you can create the more visitors that will show up.
Soon making money with “Everything That’s Good” became the most lucrative website that I have. Sure I have sites that get top rankings in Google, not just a few pages but many. I have made more money with this Homestead website than any of my other ones. The reason is because I had targeted traffic and targeted keywords that pay good money ..

When I found the forum about Homestead Websites, that’s when my website traffic began to increase. I also began to learn a wealth of information that related to website design. Right up front, as soon as I joined, I posted a website to be reviewed by the members. It was not a pretty sight when I got the results.
For several months I though that I was doing very well at building sites. Little did I know, at the time, I was interacting with some of the best in this forum about Homestead websites. My connection with this group drastically changed the way I now build sites. Although the members were kind and courteous their rating techniques caused me to purchase the SEO Building Blocks book about SEO ( or, search engine optimization) for homestead websites.
This book about optimization for Homestead websites is well worth the investment. It comes in an Ebook format and can be accessed immediately after it’s purchased. Not long after I began to implement several of the books suggestions my search engines results began to climb. I learned things like how to add an H1 or H2 tag into the Html editor and also gained some very helpful leads about other websites that could help with the evaluation of my content.

What Causes Homestead Websites Pages To Load Slowly?
May 14, 2008
Homestead Websites Optimization
When I first started using the site builder, I didn’t understand about what causes Homestead websites pages to load slowly. I would load the pages with many of the special effects that the program offers, not realizing that these things were creating very slow loading times. Now, since I have been building sites for a while, I know where the hang-ups occur and how to avoid slow loading pages with my websites designs.
Tips for slow loading Homestead website pages
Either avoid or keep to minimum use:
1) Scrolling text, spinning, bouncing & flashy things
2) Homesteads video feature (uploading Youtube Flash is OK)
3) Insert audio feature keep to a minimum per page
4) Photo shows or photos that are not optimized correctly
5) The rounded corners on the colored back grounds
6) Large areas of or to many colored backgrounds
7) Animated moving characters
Insert text boxes and submit buttons for forms
9) Lots of links on one page
10) Several HTML box inserts from sites like Goolge for advertisements also the type of display that the HTML code renders
11) Form elements such as text boxes, submit buttons, and drop down menus will add extra weight to your pages.
If your Homestead website page loads slowly start with a process of elimination of some of these items that we have listed. I have read that a good rule to follow is to keep Kbs size to less than 35Kbs. This can be determined in your file manager once you have published the page, right next to the title of the page. The size of the page is not reflected when you alter it and just preview the changes, you must publish the page.
