Homestead Website Real Tracker or Google Analytics

December 2, 2008

If your website account allows for you to keep track of your visitors,  I highly recommend that you keep an eye on your Homestead website statistics. The program may be accessed through your main account. Click on the “My Account” tab on the left side of the page. Then select the website that you want to review. In the center of the page below your domain name selection,  click on “view website statistics.” This will bring up a page called “Real Tracker.” You can also use Google Analytics if you don’t have the option available with your account. By studying traffic  results,  you can work at making things more appealing to visitors and search engines.

In the Real Tracker statistics,  you can see where your visitors came from and what keywords brought them to your site. By reviewing the activity, you can then make certain adjustments to help with getting better search engine  placements. This is all apart of what is called optimization (SEO Homestead Website). The program has many different options  and is extremely accurate in yielding statistics about all of the pages within your website.

There is another tool out there that is called Google Analytics. It will compile a large amount of data as well that can be reviewed every other day. In order to get the statistics program to function with your website,  you will have to configure a few things by following Google’s easy instructions. It’s really a great tool to use because this analyzer provides information that the Real Tracker doesn’t.  You can actually see how many different countries have visited your site and view the phrases that brought them there. There also is a pie shaped diagram that will educate you as to weather or not your visitors found your site by way of referring sites, search engines or direct traffic.

The main difference between both of these programs is that the Real Tracker statistics are updated instantly,  where in comparison to Google Analytics, the stats are uploaded every twenty four hours. Both of them work wonderful but I feel as though the real tracker is more specific about keyword phrases than Google’s program.
